    Death Cab For Cutie....

Okay, so, I admit it, I'm a huge Death Cab for Cutie fan. When I found out a few months ago that they were releasing another album, I was so excited! It made me even more happy, if that's possible, when they had a sample of it on there website. So, today at work, we were listening to the radio, and what just happens to come on? But they're new song "I Will Possess Your Heart" from their upcoming album (to be released in May) "Narrow Stairs". At first I didn't realize it was them, afterall the intro is about 5 minutes long, but when Ben Gibbard started singing, I immediately recognized it and then proceeded to tell everyone at work who it was. So, after a grueling and absolutely sickish day at work, I went home early. Immediately, I looked on Youtube to find the song, and it has an absolutely amazing video about a girl travelling the world in a melodramatic mood.  Personally, it's really cool to see....err...listen to how Death Cab for Cutie has evolved over the years and this song still has some of the Death Cab elements to it such as the poetic lyrics and the piano, but the long intro is something new, and frankly it's awesome. I think I've listened to it about 5 times today (including the time at work) and I just can't get enough of it and quite frankly( I like this expression) this song couldn't come at a more appropriate time. In conclusion, I'm really looking forward to see what their new album has to offer.

Lyrics: I Will Possess Your Heart

How I wish you could see the potential, the potential of you and me.
Its like a book elegantly bound but in a language that you can't read, just yet.

You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.
You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.

There are days when outside your window, I see my reflection as I slowly pass
And I long for this mirrored perspective when we'll be lovers, lovers at last.

You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.
You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.

You reject my advances and desperate plea. I won't let you let me down so easily. So easily

You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.
You gotta spend some time, love. You gotta spend some time with me,
and I know that you'll find love, I will possess your heart.

    I will possess your heart.
    I will possess your heart.

Other than that, I think I have a cold, but I'm looking forward to getting better...hopefully soon before the Barbecue, Race, Soccer Game and Gardening.

  • Maybe I do like Politics, well, at least Obama

    Wow, it's late, and I'm feeling...Political.

I really wish I could have gone to see Barack Obama when he was here, unfortunately I had to work and plus the  8,000 free tickets sold in 11 or so hours, but the internet has definitely allowed me to pretend I was there. (Hey! It was  also on CNN!)  However, it was pretty cool at work to see all the people that attended the rally shop at work, I would walk out onto the floor and it was alive with people talking to each other, people who didn't know one another but wore the stickers, "Hey, you're wearing an Obama sticker as well! Wasn't it great?" It was really cool to see a community come together and bond over such an experience. Even though it was absolutely hectic for me....

    From the Paper:

Many people left the arena quickly after Obama did, but one man was so moved by the possibility of hope and change that he sat quietly in the stands and cried.

Doug Frandsen said Obama represents hope that there’s something better for this country. The Missoula man said Obama is charismatic, but it isn’t his charisma that speaks to him. It’s his message.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced anything quite like it. I thought the Rolling Stones was good. This is better,” Frandsen said.

The Mayor, this guy is awesome he shops at the store quite a bit and is so friendly and funny, and here he is endorsing Obama: I think this is one of my favorite videos!
("Frankly Folks he (Obama) could be a Missoulian")

It's on CNN! Hahaha, I wonder how many people were like, "Missoula? Where's Missoula?"

"Missoula, I like how it sounds" (Nah, I have no pride for my city!)

I can't believe I searched all those videos...Oh well! I can't believe out of all those videos I saw, I kept recognizing people in the crowd....wow, I live in a small town! :)

Anyways, regardless of your personal political stance; when the time comes to election day just go out and vote, let your voice be heard. We live in a great country where we can CHOOSE who runs our country.

About Me

  • Commonly known as Sidawethiel in many places, I enjoy the simple life, I like having tea parties with Penguins and frolicking in the fields with flamingos. Here's some more info (from my last.fm profile) Whenever I hear the song "Liz on top of the World" (From the Pride and Prejudice Soundtrack), it inspires me to write. So, about myself... Hi! I'm Liz, I'm 20 and from The United States! I'm a somewhat active person, I tend to be busy quite a bit....however, I always find time to relax, like right now. I just spent the last few hours laying in my hammock chair reading. It was quite lovely, however a tad bit on the hot side. It's been really hot recently, oh and smokey as well. Bah! Forest Fires! I also spend much time people watching, since i live on a busy street, well mostly busy, but there's always many people walking by, which I don't understand, why do they have the need to be walking by my place of residency...well, maybe they're going downtown. Oh look there goes 5 more peopl
